Isfahan commences 31st Int'l Children filmfest

Isfahan commences the 31st Int'l Film Festival for Children and Youth.

Iranian city of Isfahan has commenced the 31st edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF).

"The event seeks to turn the central Province of Isfahan into the country’s cinema hub," Ali-Reza Reza-Dad, secretary of the event, said on Thursday evening.

He made the remark during the inauguration ceremony of the festival, attended by Isfahan Mayor Qodratollah Norouzi and a number of Iranian officials. A large number of children also were taking part in the event.

Congratulating the opening of this international prestigious cinematic event, he added that “tonight belongs to all kids.”

Addressing the opening, Isfahan mayor described art as mankind’s greatest achievement.

“The event is the best venue to think how we can create a better world for children and youth as well as the adults,” Norouzi added.

In the end, he invited all the peace-loving people to attend the 31st ICFF.

More than 420 works from 70 countries across the world have applied to participate in the event.

Officially started on August 30, the 2018 edition of the ICFF is slated to wrap up on September 5.
